Moving On

I saw people in your house today
but you don't live there anymore.
They've rearranged the furniture
something new hangs on the door.

I still expect to see you there,
to park out back and walk inside.
But you left so long ago,
now nowhere near do you reside.

I miss you like a favorite shirt
torn and tattered in the wash.
Sometimes it hurts to think of you
these feelings I must often quash.

But you've moved on, and so have I;
New paths we're walking now.
I wish you happiness always,
no matter where or how.
