Circles

I turned circles
In my living room
Spinning
Like my record
Mama watched
And laughed
And danced
With me

Those days were fun

Then I had to grow up
Like the song says

But I still dance
And sing
And twirl in circles
When I feel like it

 

 

 

I wrote this while listening to "Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell.

When I was little, my brother and I used to spin in circles in the middle of the floor every time my mom put this song on.
